Behind the Veil

Image
Poem (c)  Shilpa Sandesh                                                                                                      Photography (c) Samrat C The raucous voices, And despotic selves, Inevitably rasping, Constantly boorish; The genteel utterances, Gracious and urbane, Delightful appearances, Amusing and pleasing; But  Soon the veil is removed, Faces separated , From the disguise, And the truth unsheathed, The actuality revealed; The raucous is the genteel, Refined and courteous, The boorish is pleasing, Lovely and affable, But it's the world, Of the glitters and glints, All that shimmers, Is contemplated as supreme; Least do we know, Enveloped is the verity, Encrusted underneath, The unjust fate, distorted life, Which make the roses, look like the thorns, And the thorns, Look like the roses.

Being Solitary................(Is Sometimes the Right Thing)

(c) Shilpa Sandesh Retreat of the soul, Isolation of the thoughts, Quietness of the mind, Or  A sequestered subconscious; Elsewhere and far away, From the chaotic  From the state of being In pandemonium, From the anarchic  And a confused world; Solo, On the rocks midst the sea, Unaccompanied, In the snow clothed peaks, Unchaperoned, In the woods that be; Rejuvenation and restitution, Sometimes come with, Being solitary!

The Smile....The Snow

(c) Shilpa Sandesh Her luminesce smile, Glowing and shimmering, The beam that enveloped, Darkness in her heart, Dismal and somber, Just like the rocks, Sheathed with, The sprinkle so white, Of the snow around.

Wake Up Oh Lifeless Soul!

(c) Shilpa Sandesh Like a blooming flower of the spring, And the shedding leaf of the autumn, Her soul has been Through the ups and downs, She glistened like a ray of the sun, Vanished into sudden eclipse, Shone like a shimmering full moon, And was lost into the darkest nights, At times an incandescent fluoresce, And then a flickering cooling ember, Sturdy is now her strengthened self, Wake up Oh lifeless soul! Come what may,  Turbulence or tumult, Confusion or chaos, The spark is alive, To light her soul back to life, Wake up Oh lifeless soul, The twinkling moments, When the sparkling glare, of undying blossom, will coruscate the walls, of the rigid fate, Such moments, Are yet to come!

The Cogent Eve, Risen Again!

(c) Shilpa Sandesh Fallen to the depths, Of the darkest truths, Tumbled down, Into unfathomable ditches, Of the glistening hypocrisy, Beware, Treacherous and duplicitous selves, The Cogent Eve, Has risen again!
