The Rise and Fall of Beth
(c) Shilpa Sandesh
Life takes a thousand
turns,
It’s a turbulent ride,
Beth’s ride,
Where her life descends,
Bleeding down,
To the deepest depths;
Her hysterical cries
Are unheard,
Tears roll down,
For no illusive
reasons;
She smiles with wet
eyes,
Laughs with sobs,
Her breach, She Loved!
A brave heart he is,
He loved with
promises,
And conditions as
well,
Beth accepted all for
his love;
Was that her
assumption or her faith,
That Love would change
His conditions that
be?
That her love
Would change his
conditions of loving!
That was her faith!
“I accept all Oh my Spartan!
Just Love me till the
very end,
You have been the ray
of Hope,
The sole solace,
In my rotten moments,
Leave me not,
Or I would give up
forever,
Oh my gallant love,
Be with me forever!”
She said;
And one fine night,
Her Trojan calls,
“Disloyal I can’t be,
To the one who bore
me,
I love you,
In the next birth,
You would be mine;
But I break today,
All ties with you,
Beth, don’t trouble me
more!”
Ah! And Beth is
occupied,
She is hustling,
Working diligently,
Not to miss on any
piece,
Of her shattered self,
Unsettled and fidgety
she is,
Fretfully caucusing
her
Her fragmented soul!
She is crippled,
Smashed and shattered,
Beth is inconsolable!
Life doesn't fascinate
her anymore,
It’s intriguing, it’s
at stake;
The enthusiasm to
live,
And to breath,
She has lost!
Beth now awaits,
For her breaths to
last!
Beth is fallen at last!
