In The Heaven's Vault

(c) Shilpa Sandesh

A hysterical soul,
In tears within,
Serene expressions,
And a gloomy grin;

Words untold,
Sealed behind ,
Those trembling lips,
Arms outstretched,
Like an albatross
Preparing its flight;

Yearning for exemption,
From the encompassing chaos,
The absurdity and purposelessness,
Tranquility bereaved,
Much has been lost;

A pseudo smile,
Phony and mock,
Sufficing is this pomp,
And a counterfeit beam,

I stand beneath,
Wide open sky,
A blue spread ahead
And an urge to glide,
Let me take a leap,
And mount and whoosh,
And the world is a past,
From the zenithal highs,
As I let loose,
In the Heaven's vault!
