As They Lie Beneath the Starry Sky
(c) Shilpa Sandesh
Words I have written,
The reverences proclaimed,
All appear barren,
Worthless and in vain;
Magic searched my words,
Or my expressions yearned enchantment,
The dilemma is no more,
The divination discovers the core;
I wonder whether I digressed,
Or the magic drifted from its course,
Poetry personifies me,
Under the wizard's spell I shall stay;
The joy knows no bounds,
The magnetism or an illusion,
A power or fascination,
This allure is so profound;
A connection of the souls,
In quest for each other,
Words and the spell,
Are finally together;
The pursual ends,
Incertitude resolves,
Let the two laugh, forgetting the sighs,
As they lie beneath the starry sky.
Words I have written,
The reverences proclaimed,
All appear barren,
Worthless and in vain;
Magic searched my words,
Or my expressions yearned enchantment,
The dilemma is no more,
The divination discovers the core;
I wonder whether I digressed,
Or the magic drifted from its course,
Poetry personifies me,
Under the wizard's spell I shall stay;
The joy knows no bounds,
The magnetism or an illusion,
A power or fascination,
This allure is so profound;
A connection of the souls,
In quest for each other,
Words and the spell,
Are finally together;
The pursual ends,
Incertitude resolves,
Let the two laugh, forgetting the sighs,
As they lie beneath the starry sky.
