So Hold Me, Will You?
(c) Shilpa Sandesh
I am a leaf,
Dry and lifeless,
Save me as I fall,
From my barren tree,
Or I would touch the ground,
And from this life,
I will break free ;
I am one of the drops,
Of the sudden rain,
Gather me in your palms,
Or this fall,
Would be in vain,
And if I fuse with the soil,
From my being,
I will break free ;
I am that frozen flake,
That colours the hills in white,
As the snow falls,
From immeasurable heights,
Let me melt on your skin,
Because if I blend with the earth,
I would be forever frozen ;
So hold me,
Will you?
I am a leaf,
Dry and lifeless,
Save me as I fall,
From my barren tree,
Or I would touch the ground,
And from this life,
I will break free ;
I am one of the drops,
Of the sudden rain,
Gather me in your palms,
Or this fall,
Would be in vain,
And if I fuse with the soil,
From my being,
I will break free ;
I am that frozen flake,
That colours the hills in white,
As the snow falls,
From immeasurable heights,
Let me melt on your skin,
Because if I blend with the earth,
I would be forever frozen ;
So hold me,
Will you?
