Our Being's Piteous Nothingness

What is there to seek or desire?
To live knowing that the body is a temporal cloak,
To breathe realizing that any moment the clock might stop,
To hope and be hopeless at the same time,
To understand nothing is ours, still calling everything as 'mine',
To talk of virtuous and righteousness,
While being controlled by greed's harness,
Aren't we all blind?
Life itself is the treacherous heart's deceit to the upright mind,
All this is nothing,
But our being's piteous nothingness....
