The Gangling Life

(c) Shilpa S Happiness…. Why do I burst out laughing? When I come across this clumsy word! So gauche and cloddish, It’s just a word after all; Sadness lets one understand, The true value of happiness…. Oh so lame is that! And my mind laughs sarcastically again! Love…. Another of the silly epithets, And oh, it’s too just a word! It’s nothing but a sword, I picked up myself, To cut my soul, And now I cry, Because my inner self bleeds! How silly can one be! Smiles…. Need I say more? Tears are more faithful, They accompany more frequently than smiles; So it’s a dilemma, A confusion. A conundrum, The biggest of all puzzles, A vicious circle of ghostly things, Worst of the tempers, The soul boiling, Screaming and shouting, A shrill, The plight of the soul is tricky, The path is blur, And I belong to nowhere!

The Rise and Fall of Beth

(c) Shilpa Sandesh Life takes a thousand turns, It’s a turbulent ride, Beth’s ride, Where her life descends, Bleeding down, To the deepest depths; Her hysterical cries Are unheard, Tears roll down, For no illusive reasons; She smiles with wet eyes, Laughs with sobs, Her breach, She Loved! A brave heart he is, He loved with promises, And conditions as well, Beth accepted all for his love; Was that her assumption or her faith, That Love would change His conditions that be? That her love Would change his conditions of loving! That was her faith! “I accept all Oh my Spartan! Just Love me till the very end, You have been the ray of Hope, The sole solace, In my rotten moments, Leave me not, Or I would give up forever, Oh my gallant love, Be with me forever!” She said; And one fine night, Her Trojan calls, “Disloyal I can’t be, To the one who bore me, I love you, In the next birth, You would be mine; B...

Every Woman is Beautiful,The Beauty is Immortal

This poem is a dedication to all those women, who have gone through the harsh treatment of disease like cancer, and tend to lose hair due to chemotherapy, and hence the confidence as well. You are beautiful lady........You always would be ! (c) Shilpa Sandesh She was alluring With hair, curls like the Grapevine, Eyes Fiercely eloquent Like pearl in a shell, Her skin Glistening like the moon, Her lips Exquisite velvet red, Beauteous swan neck, Beguiling silhouette, The enchanting her. The beast watched all The fate thwacked, But none could kill The beauty within She is alluring, Bald-headed and plain, Eyes Fiercely eloquent Like pearl in a shell, Her skin Glistening like the moon, Her lips Exquisite velvet red, Beauteous swan neck, Beguiling silhouette, The enchanting her; All this to say, Every woman is beautiful, And the beauty is immortal !

She is The Hyacinth !

(c) Shilpa Sandesh 4. a.m She wakes up, unquiet and bewildered, Fidgety and asphyxiate; Her mind delving, In some unsettled, Puzzled contemplation, An exasperation, Vexatious and maddening, A hustle bustle Of undefined notions, Fostering a chaos, A furore in her inner self; And she finds solace, In the beautiful Hyacinths, Floating upon, A solitary pond, The dew drops resting, On the brilliant greens; Incited is her soul, At this cheering sight, To keep afloat, Her boat of life, Upon the seas, With storms of setbacks, And whirls of misfortune; As her eyes glance Her soul hums: "I am the Hyacinth, Hyacinth is me, I will survive, Whatever my fate brings."

My Brave Knight

(c) Shilpa Sandesh Handsome and pleasing, Like some prince, In a lore, A striking sight, He's my brave knight; Sanguine and certain, Commanding and sturdy, furious yet calm, Like the glistening sun, And the stars so bright, He's my brave knight; A warm embrace, A gentle heart, Resolute and steadfast, Aiming the dart, With a scrupulous sight, He's my brave knight; Audacious and fearless, Valiant in the stormy winds, And the winter's chill, The searing sun, Or the rainy nights, He dauntlessly steps forth, Heroic he is, He's my brave knight.

Cast A Spell On Me !

(c) Shilpa Sandesh Weeping eyes, And a heavy heart, Empty hands, And fate's poisonous dart; Look into my eyes, Hold my hands, Cast a spell on me! Let's flap our wings, And glide, Over the snow sheathed peaks, And the cloud veiled sky, Let the gloom  Turn into the glee, As you cast a spell on me! Let's stroll, Upon the floating stones, And on that algae clothed pond, Midst blooming lotuses, Let's drift into the delusion that be, As you cast a spell on me! Let's expedite, The archival boulevards, The Roman walled cities, The marble pillars, And the whispering ruins, And that mesmerizing gleam; As you cast a spell on me; With eyes closed, And extended hands, I wait for thee, Come and cast a spell on me!

The Graceful Path

(c) Shilpa Sandesh The soul is a phantom, Elusive, caged, Evasive in this, Faux world, Fluttering breathlessly, Wheezing and jaded, Craving precariously To flow unbound, Like this uninterrupted splash, Discovering with dignity and poise, It’s graceful path.
