Living The Instant Yet To Be Lived

(c) Shilpa Sandesh

Attired in satin flares,
Reposing,
Beneath the sparkling stellar glare,
Here,
Here I am,
Gazing at you,
While you stay consumed,
In the stillness of the calm waters ahead,
Should I or shouldn't I mark my presence?
Oh, but I don't wish to startle you!
You, lost in the twilight's wondrous essence,
My heart chooses,
To pen the majestic view,
Into a sublime verse;

Least did I realise,
My steps were being counted,
My breaths were being felt,
Pondering you were,
Not upon what lay ahead,
But, my progressive steps,
And alluring is the cognizance,
That you were penning an Ode for me,
Such was the charisma,
Of that heavenly moment,
When words made love,
The lyrics played,
Pens danced,
And engrossed in that poetic love,
Miles apart we stayed,
Living the instant, yet to be lived................
