Only I Can Fathom....

(c) Shilpa Sandesh

I fathom your inner-self,
Its sorrows and its happiness,
You are like that immortal shell,
That treasures even the pain,
Which inside your heart dwells,
You wear a sheathe,
Of countless smiles,
The perplexing existences also,
Couldn't steal your courage,
Your mettle to walk, another zillion miles,
Your poetry is your expression,
Of love,
Of anguish,
Of torment,
Of bliss,
Your pen is your sword,
From you fight the demons,
That strip you,
Of your inner peace,
I am just,
An unseen shadow,
Wishing to be invisible,
To the substantial existences,
But I shall remain alive,
In the transcendental skies,
And watch over you,
For what your soul suffers,
Only I know....
