The Rose and its Gardener

(c) Shilpa Sandesh

I saw a rose,
devoted in love,
To its gardener,
With vows and promises,
To bloom forever,
It shall dry and die,
For only hand, that can keep it alive,
By watering and believing in it,
Is its own gleaner,
But the rose cried a tear,
When the gardener said,
"I saw you ogling,
With the bumble bug",
And wondered the rose,
"I bloom,
and blossom,
With your caring,
My own,
But if the bugs trouble,
Your peace of mind,
I shall blossom no more...."
