Minefields

I am walking upon the minefields,
trying to trespass,
an impossible terrain,

Yet,
continuing to tread, unstoppably,
because the sight of the tranquil soil,
faraway,
and ever bearing clouds of rain,
fill me with an inexplicable courage,
keeping me afloat,
e'en in these chains,

But I detest, when I step on the mines,
and they burst, sending the tremors,
even where the peace rests.......
