Our Perennial Love

(c) Shilpa Sandesh

Amidst those smirks and simpers,
Making its way,
through the crazy grins,
A cosmic union of two distant souls,
Is dawning;

Our verses are one,
So are our quintessences,
And our images are carved,
In each others hearts,
By those very modest grins;

Let me sculpt our moments,
Moments when we are apart,
Moments when we be one,
Into an immortal sculpture,

Or

Let me chisel our names,
On pebbles,
And stones,
And crystals,

Or let me just etch my heart,
In yours, My beloved,

We are no Apollo and Daphne,
Or Clytie and Helios,
We are You and I,
Striding on the maple sheathed path,
Of Our Perennial Love....
