Perseverance en Amour....
(c) Shilpa Sandesh
There you stand solo,
On the white sands of a distant beach,
While I poise alone,
With my miserable heart,
In the porch facing the sea;
The saline breeze there sheathes you,
As the wind here caress my frame,
Letting the twilight pass,
Until the new dawn,
Fondled by,
Sprinkles and splash,
Of the rain and the drizzles,
I fear to leave the portico,
For I want not to be devoid,
Of that smallest particle in the wind,
And that tiniest drop of the rain,
Which has touched you moments before,
Feeling my silver skin;
With dewy eyes and heavy heart,
I wish I could be there,
We would sit in the night's cold sand,
My head resting on your shoulders,
Our bodies warm with the closeness,
With eyes closed,
Tuning into the accent of the waves,
We would let the briny whiff,
Whisk against our cheeks;
I am awakened, awakened he is,
By the knock of the merciless moments,
As we envisage the distances which be;
But comforted is my inner self,
When your fervor says to me,
"My beloved,
Let this be the hour,
Of the passionate union of our souls,
As that moment I can espy,
That time for our enamored oneness,
Is nearing from afar,
It's the endurance of two hearts,
The perseverance en amour"
