The Forbidden Prison of Ice........

(c) Shilpa Sandesh

I am the iceberg,
In the frozen lands of nowhere,
I waited,
Amidst the blizzards and the snow flurries,
I stood stiffened under the spell of the ice,
Like a humming bird,
Imprisoned behind the bleak bars;

The moment arrived,
A sudden wind of warmth,
Melted my prison's peripheral surface,
And I saw you riding on a silver horse,
Like a prince of the Newfound land,
I see you still,
Striding towards me,
To unlock the doors of this dungeon,
I am blue with cold,
My breaths loosing pace with time,
Approach me soonest I plead, be mine,
I have fallen on my knees,
I can stand no more,
I await your warm embrace,
That would,
Melt me down,
And free I would be,
From what seems to be beauty to the eyes,
From this, which veritably is the forbidden prison of ice..........
