Lovers' Rhapsody

(c) Shilpa Sandesh

As I lie down on the snow,
Seduced by its beguiling white,
Freezing, cold, yet letting my body,
Be wrapped in its ivory smoothness,
It melts by the heat of my mortal frame,
Drop after drop,
it flows down from my cheeks to neck,
Caressing me with its cold touch;

My pen awaiting my command,
Rises to be embraced between my fingers,
As restless as my inner self,
To capture the serenity around,
In the most mesmerizing words;

I scrawl, my blissful spirit,
Sprinkled on paper,
But Oh, He espies me from afar!
I see you!
I see you my enchanter!
I see you behind that tall pine tree,
Your eyes occupied in composing,
Their own beauteous rhymes,
And we both write verses,
I write you on paper with ink,
While you write me,
In your imaginations with your eyes,
And so we become,
Two rhapsodists, making opus,
Embracing each other,
Through expressions, through words,
Through poetry, and through Nature.........
