Our Bewitchingly Mingled Dreams........

(c) Shilpa Sandesh

Did you dream last night, my love?
Because I slept without one!
Is this the glory of it all,
When it's not just the bodies,
But in love are the souls?

My miserable days,
And your self-hatred were executed,
By destiny's sword,
The moment we discovered,
That this is the life,
We are destined to be one in;

Do you know my dear,
My births and lives so far,
Have been a mere waste,
Numerous desolate existences,
The half of my this life,
Has been as arid,
As all the previous ones,
But the God favoured a little pity,
And so we met;

Aah, and back to the dreams,
In love two bodies dream together,
But when souls love,
They share the same dream,
While I dream of you tonight,
You would sleep a dreamless night,
As you dream of me tomorrow,
I would yearn and spend the twilight,
In sighs,
Confused?
Well my beloved,
Our souls are not two,
They are one,
So is the dream one,
But our bodies are two,
Yet to be one,
And so while your visions speak,
Mine stays mum;

Such is the beauty of our dreams,
Our bewitchingly mingled dreams........
