Our Wedding In The Garden Of Hesperides
(c) Shilpa Sandesh
The holy path has been laid,
In the garden of the Hesperides,
Where Zeus accepted Hera,
The altar has been set,
Under the tree bearing golden apples,
Where dressed in a Greek wedding gown,
I shall walk towards you,
On the path sheathed in roses,
White and red,
Tough it is to wait,
To see those gleaming eyes,
As they would look into mine,
While I would take the divine stride,
That moment, everything would halt,
Nothing we would see or know or feel,
But You and I and the vows,
Such would be the aurora,
Of the new life,
Life that has no age,
No end and no bounds,
But just the vows of togetherness,
In joys and the sorrows,
A wedding that the Gods and the Goddesses,
Shall mention in the sacred lore,
There was a union of souls,
Amidst the butterflies and fireflies,
Fairies and elves and nymphs,
Our Wedding in the garden of Hesperides...........
