Tulip and the Gradener
(c) Shilpa Sandesh
There is a barren land,
Where dwells a lone tulip,
In the warmth and protection,
Of its beloved gardener,
Travelers have passed by,
Many walk by now and then,
Eyeing what they think and call,
A delightful beauty,
Many wish to touch it,
Some would gaze,
The Tulip doesn't pay heed,
Neither is it inclined to seek another gardener,
It is devoted by heart and soul,
And all its physical allure,
To its One gardener,
Her protector for life,
But he feels, the tulip smiles at the roamers,
"Oh my only gardener,
How do I make you believe,
Thou be the only one I seek,
The only one my heart is rejoiced with,
I have beamed not at any wanderer,
As my love is for you alone,
Hear Oh drifters and explorers,
Eye the carnations and roses,
For I am the tulip,
Which belongs,
Only to my beloved gardener"
